Jesus, Our Wonderful Counsellor – Rhapsody Of Realities TeeVo Devotional September 2nd

(The Four Titles Of Jesus)

TO THE BIBLE: Isaiah 9:6 RSV
“…His name will be called “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.””

LET’S TALK
Our opening verse is a profound revelation given to Prophet Isaiah by God Almighty. God graciously reveals the coming of a child and discloses a list of names by which He shall be called.

First and foremost is the title “Wonderful Counsellor,” which, in the original Hebrew text, means “Extraordinary Strategist.” This reveals to us the ministry of the Holy Spirit, as shown in John 14:16 AMPC.

In the grand tapestry of God’s prophetic plan, we witness this child, born into the world, maturing into a son, and ultimately facing death.

However, the story doesn’t end there. After His death, burial, and resurrection, He comes to minister to us throughout the Church Age.

How, you may ask? By the Holy Spirit, the extraordinary counsellor, who is our strategic guide, helping us win in life.

At the end of the Church Age, the Lord Jesus returns to deliver Israel as the “Mighty God”: “Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:13).

During the Armageddon, Israel becomes the battlefront. The Jews go through the Great Tribulation, and many flee from the Antichrist in terror.

However, the Lord Jesus emerges from heaven with a great army of saints and powerfully delivers Israel, taking action against the Antichrist and all of God’s enemies.

The next thing Israel experiences from Jesus is the “Everlasting Father.” Though they’ve rejected Him for 2,000 years and haven’t believed in Him, they suddenly realise that He’s the One who delivered them from the Antichrist.

They come to Him, crying out, “He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished us according to our iniquities… As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear Him” (Psalm 103:10-13).

Finally, He is called the “Prince of Peace.” After delivering Israel and opening His arms to receive them, He establishes His Kingdom for 1,000 years of peace, during which we will reign with Him over the nations of the earth (Revelation 20:4-6).

These events I speak of are not so far away. The first one, where Christ is manifested to the Church through the Holy Spirit, has been ongoing for nearly 2,000 years and is approaching its climax.

The Rapture is not far away. Therefore, live your life in preparation for the Master’s soon return.
