Who Is The Church? – Rhapsody Of Realities TeeVo Devotional September 1st

(We’re God’s Chosen Race)

TO THE BIBLE: 1 Corinthians 10:32
“Give no offense, either to the Jews or to the Greeks or to the church of God.”

LET’S TALK
The Lord Jesus declared in Matthew 16:18 AMPC, “…I will build My church, and the gates of Hades (the powers of the infernal region) shall not overpower it [or be strong to its detriment or hold out against it].”

Who is this “Church?” Before Jesus came, God recognised two kinds of people in the world: the Jewish race and the Gentile race.

The Jewish race was the result of God’s choice and promise to Abraham and his descendants, while every other person who wasn’t a Jew was considered a Gentile, regardless of their origin.

When you read Ephesians 1:22-23 AMPC, you get to know who the Church of Jesus Christ is: “…He (God) has put all things under His feet and has appointed Him the universal and supreme Head of the church [a headship exercised throughout the church], which is His body, the fullness of Him Who fills all in all [for in that body lives the full measure of Him Who makes everything complete, and Who fills everything everywhere with Himself].”

The Church of Jesus Christ is His Body, and Ephesians 5:30 explains the composition of this Body: “For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones.”

Therefore, when Jesus said He would build His Church, He meant His Body, and we are the members of that Body. Glory to God!

We’re His Church—the race that consists of everyone who is born again, whether Jew or Gentile! Ephesians 2:14 AMPC states, “For He is [Himself] our peace (our bond of unity and harmony).

He has made us both [Jew and Gentile] one [body], and has broken down (destroyed, abolished) the hostile dividing wall between us.” In Christ Jesus, there’s no distinction between Jew and Gentile (Galatians 3:27-28).

When you were born again, your identity as a Gentile or Jew was cancelled. Now, you’re a new creation, just as 2 Corinthians 5:17 declares, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

You are now part of the Church race, which is God’s own chosen race today (1 Peter 2:9 AMPC). Glory to God!
