They Are God’s Gift To You – Rhapsody Of Realities TeeVo Devotional February 16th

(Pray For Your Pastors And Leaders)

TO THE BIBLE: 1 THESSALONIANS 5:25 KJV
“Brethren, pray for us”

LET’S TALK
In the book of Acts, we learn about a tough time for the early church. King Herod had the Apostle James killed, and when he saw that it made the people happy, he arrested Peter too, planning to kill him as well (Acts 12:1–5).

When James was taken, the church hadn’t realised how powerful intercession could be. But when Peter was arrested, they understood what needed to be done.

The Bible says the church prayed constantly to God for Peter, and their prayers made a difference (Acts 12:5).

This story shows how important it is to pray for our leaders. Do you ever pray for your pastor or church leaders? It’s crucial because they play a big role in guiding us in our spiritual journey.

The Apostle Paul asked the church to pray for him, saying, “Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience” (Hebrews 13:18 NIV).

Paul asked for prayers for two main reasons. First, he needed boldness to share the Gospel (Ephesians 6:19). Second, the church needed him.

Paul even said, “For I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body” (Philippians 1:23–24 NIV).

If Paul had passed on too soon, the church would have missed out on the amazing revelations God gave him. But because people prayed, Paul was able to complete his mission.

That’s why he later declared, “I am pure from the blood of all men, for I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God” (Acts 20:26–27 NIV).

So remember, praying for your pastors and leaders is important—they are God’s gift to you.
