The Vantage Point – Rhapsody Of Realities TeeVo Devotional July 24th

(God’s Blessing Gives You The Advantage)

TO THE BIBLE: 1 Peter 3:9
“Not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.”

LET’S TALK
Abraham and his nephew, Lot, had flocks that were so large that the place they occupied couldn’t accommodate them both any longer. This caused strife between their herdsmen.

Abraham wasn’t happy with this, so he called Lot and asked him to choose any part of the vast land where he could tend his flocks separately without their herdsmen clashing with each other.

The Bible says that Lot lifted up his eyes and chose the best part of the land, leaving the other part for his uncle.

Abraham didn’t care what part of the land he got because he knew he was a blessed man. A blessed man really doesn’t care what you give him because he knows he’s carrying a blessing that could make him prosper no matter what happens.

By faith, Abraham took his own portion of the land, and God’s blessing came upon it, but Lot’s seemingly good part, Sodom, was eventually destroyed by fire when God’s judgement came upon it.

Some folks complain bitterly about how they’ve been cheated or victimised by others. They give these excuses as reasons for their failures in life. You’re the seed of Abraham, and the blessing of Abraham is at work in you.

That blessing is what guarantees your success and prosperity, no matter where you find yourself in life. It was that blessing at work in Isaac that made him dig wells and find water where others had tried and failed.

If you’re in Christ, you have the advantage over any adversary because the blessing of Abraham is at work in you twenty-four hours a day.
