Rhapsody Of Realities TeeVo Devotional June 16th – It’s Not By Might!

(Make Impact By The Spirit)

TO THE BIBLE: Zechariah 4:6
“So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the Lord of hosts.””

LET’S TALK
In Luke 24:49, Jesus instructed His disciples to wait in Jerusalem until they were filled with the Holy Spirit, because He knew they needed His divine enablement to accomplish the task He had given them.

In fact, during His own earthly ministry, He wouldn’t do anything except by and through the Spirit. In John 5:19, He said, “…Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.”

The Father He was referring to here is the Holy Spirit, because, in Matthew 1:18, Jesus is called the child of the Holy Ghost. Again, in John 14:10, He said, “…the Father who dwells in Me does the works.”

He referred to the Holy Spirit as the One who worked through Him to perform miracles. In the same way, the miracles, signs and wonders recorded in our ministry and the tremendous impact we’re making around the world are in no way by human effort. They are the works of the Spirit of God. We’ve learnt to work by the Spirit and through the Spirit.

That’s what your life ought to be as a Christian. You have to be continually filled with the Spirit to be consistent in your walk of faith and demonstrate the miraculous. The Apostle Paul wrote to the church at Ephesus to be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18).

Make up your mind to do everything by the power of the Holy Spirit and not just by your human ability. That way, not only will your service to the Lord be accepted and sanctified by Him, you’ll make a more enduring impact with the Gospel.
