Rhapsody Of Realities TeeVo Devotional July 25th – You’re From Heaven

(Heaven—Your True Origin And Citizenship)

TO THE BIBLE: Hebrews 12:22-24
“…You have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.”

LET’S TALK
Some people are so deeply committed to the land of their nativity. They take pride in being African, American, British, Oriental, European, Australian, Latino, and so on.

But the truth is until you disconnect yourself from the roots of an earthly nativity, you’d never really walk in the light of your salvation.

You need to realise that when you’re born again you become a member of the commonwealth of Israel (Ephesians 2:12). You become a member of Heaven’s General Assembly. I’m not making you a promise, but showing you the truth as revealed in God’s Word! You become a fellow citizen in God’s Kingdom when you’re born again; heaven becomes your authentic home country.

This is the reason you must look beyond your natural citizenship—the country of your earthly nativity—to the glorious heavenly inheritance reserved for those who are born into God’s Kingdom!
That’s the real “God’s own country,” and you’re a bona fide citizen if you’re born again.

In the countries of the world, for example, to know and exercise your civic rights, duties, liberty and obligations you’d have to study the constitution of your native country.

In the same way, to explore and get to know your heavenly rights, privileges and inheritance in Christ, you’d have to study God’s Word; that’s our constitution as heavenly citizens. In it, you’d discover who you are, what you have, and what you can do in Christ.

Speak:
My citizenship is not of this world but Heaven. I’m a member of God’s General Assembly and Church of the firstborn. Therefore, I live heaven’s life on earth, and through the Word and by the Holy Ghost, I’m daily acquainted with the constitution governing the heavenly Kingdom, to which I’m a bona fide citizen.
