Rhapsody Of Realities TeeVo Devotional January 3rd – It’s A Beautiful Relationship

(Get Into The Word, Prayer, And Worship)

TO THE BIBLE: Acts 6:4 AMPC
“…We will continue to devote ourselves steadfastly to prayer and the ministry of the Word.”

LET’S TALK
“Alex, why haven’t you accepted my invitation to church?” Dale asked his new convert. “Oh, I honestly thought you leading me to Christ was all there was to Christianity. I didn’t realise I had to go to church too,” Alex replied.

“Alex, there’s still a lot you need to know and understand about the Christian life. You’ve got to grow, and going to church can help with that.

In church, you’re taught how to get into God’s Word and relate with Him in prayer and worship. Promise me you won’t miss the service this week?” “Yeah, I promise; I’ll be there. I’ll bring a few friends too!”

In Christianity and your relationship with the Lord, the first thing you need to understand is what He desires to say to you (through His Word).

Secondly, the privilege He gives you to respond to Him (in prayer).

Third is your worship, which is a form of spiritual sacrifices and offerings (Hebrews 13:15). These three are central in your relationship with the Lord.

You’re a spirit: you came from God’s Spirit and were created by the Word of God (read 1 Peter 1:23). Thus, being born of God’s Word, you must continually feed on the source material—His Word—to truly live.

1 Peter 2:2 says, “As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby.” Jesus also said in Luke 4:4, “…It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God” (GNB).

The Father always speaks; He’s always in communication with your spirit, sharing His thoughts with you. So, it’s not just the words that you say to God during the times of prayer that matter but the opportunity it provides for His Spirit to minister to you as you minister to Him.

You should also give quality time to sing to the Lord in worship, praise, and adoration. Worship is a mingling of spirits; it’s a moment of divine ecstasy where you’re enraptured in the bliss and glory of God’s presence.

In John 4:23, the Lord teaches what true worship is—it’s worship done in spirit and in truth. You worship the Father from your spirit and according to His Word. It involves making confessions to His Name on the basis of who He is and His personality revealed in the Word.

Dear heavenly Father, thank you for the beauty of being cultured, nurtured and built up by your Word, and also for the opportunity of continuous fellowship with you through prayer. Even now, I worship you and praise your majesty, acknowledging your grace and glory in my life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
