Rhapsody Of Realities TeeVo Devotional October 14th – There’s Only One “Beautiful” You

(You Are The Only One Like You)

TO THE BIBLE: Hebrews 12:1-2
“..Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

LET’S TALK
Gail came back from school one day, went straight into her room, slammed the door and burst into tears. She felt so dejected because she had been teased by Sandra, a classmate, about her stature and looks.

She said, “You’re not even athletic enough to join the Cheerleaders!” The more Gail thought about Sandra’s words, the more she sobbed until her mum came into her room and calmed her down. “Darling, don’t measure yourself by how others rate you.

You’re beautiful and unique; there’s not a person like you in the whole world. The Holy Spirit in you will continue to beautify your life, and He’ll teach you how to develop any talent or skill you have or require,” she soothed.

Sometimes, there’s the temptation to feel discouraged when it seems others around you are making better progress. Recognise that such feelings are absolutely unnecessary. That someone else is succeeding doesn’t mean you’re failing.

The reason many get into unhealthy competitions and strife is their ignorance of this truth. You need to understand that you’re unique, and nobody can do that which God has asked you to do exactly as you would.

Therefore, refuse to compare yourself with someone else. Focus on your calling; work on outdoing your past and not someone else. This consciousness will make your life full of rest because you’ll learn to measure your success through God’s Word.

God has a unique plan for your life, different from that of any other living person. His intents and purposes for you are distinct because He doesn’t have, has never had, and will never have a replica of you!

You’re the only “you” that God has and will ever have. So, take pleasure in who you are and in what God is doing in your life; learn to celebrate your victories.

Pray:
Dear Father, I know that I was born for a purpose, and that is to bring glory and honour to your Name. I receive the grace to run my own race of life with joy and fulfilment, recognising and appreciating all the victories and successes in Christ for me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
