(Your Heritage Is One Of Unimaginable Wealth)
TO THE BIBLE: Ephesians 3:8
“To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,”
LET’S TALK
The Greek word for “unsearchable” captures a depth that’s difficult to fully express in English. The Amplified Classic Bible helps by describing it as “the unending (boundless, fathomless, incalculable, and exhaustless) riches of Christ.” This description paints a vivid picture of the amazing magnitude of Christ’s wealth!
So how do we even begin to grasp Christ’s riches? Where would we start, and where would we end? The answer depends on the person we’re talking about.
If Christ is truly God (and He is), then we’re talking about a wealth that’s limitless. Remember, we’re one with Him. Thus, our heritage is one of unimaginable wealth and abundance in Christ!
The Lord Jesus is the heir and rightful owner of everything: “[But] in the last of these days He has spoken to us in [the person of a] Son, Whom He appointed Heir and lawful Owner of all things, also by and through Whom He created the worlds and the reaches of space and the ages of time [He made, produced, built, operated, and arranged them in order]” (Hebrews 1:2 AMPC). According to Matthew 13:44, He bought the whole field, so the whole world belongs to Him.
Romans 8:16-17 says, “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ…” That means everything that belongs to Jesus is also ours.
This is our inheritance, and it’s important that we claim it. We’re walking in the footsteps of Abraham, as Galatians 3:29 says, “…if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise”
Everything on earth belongs to us in Christ. That’s why Paul boldly says in 1 Corinthians 3:21, “…all things are yours.”
