Rhapsody Of Realities TeeVo Devotional November 26th – God Admires Humility

(Humility Gets You Promoted With God)

TO THE BIBLE: James 4:6 NIV
“But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.””

LET’S TALK
Do you want to get God’s attention? Do you want God to promote and prosper you? It all depends on you! Our opening verse gives a clear and distinct way to get God to promote you in life.

Humility is a key to greatness, success and promotion. God gives more grace to the humble but sets Himself against the proud and haughty (James 4:6 TLB); the more they try to rise or forge ahead in life, the more their pride inevitably sets them against God’s favour.

Some people experience stagnation and unsteady growth, and they wonder why things are not going so well with them, even with the application of the right principle(s).

They see other people that have nothing compared to what they have making speedy progress and wonder. The reason sometimes is pride. God doesn’t like pride; He elbows it.

In the same way, you may think that weakness is humility. There’s a big difference between them both. Being humble doesn’t mean you are weak; rather, it’s a strength of character.

Let’s picture the life of Jesus; He was an open show of humility. He wasn’t weak; at the same time, He wasn’t arrogant, rude, or conceited. The Bible says He made himself of no reputation and humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross (Philippians 2:7-8).

Even though He was so humble, He never allowed anyone to talk Him down! He knew His identity and spoke openly about His relationship and authority with the Father.

Be humble! Show love and display good character and communicate with kind words. God is interested in humble people and will continue to add more grace to them.
