Rhapsody of Realities TeeVo Devotional 22nd August – Fight From Heaven

(Offer Yourself To God Willingly And Experience Miracles)

TO THE BIBLE: Judges 5:20
“They fought from the heavens; the stars from their courses fought against Sisera.”

LET’S TALK
Judges 4 tells a very remarkable and inspiring story: Deborah, the prophetess and judge of Israel at the time, sent for a man called Barak and prophesied to him that God would use him to deliver Israel from their oppressors Jabin and Sisera (Judges 4:6-7).

In the battle that followed, the Bible says, “…the LORD confused Sisera, his chariot drivers, and his whole army. Everyone was so afraid of Barak and his army, that even Sisera jumped down from his chariot and tried to escape” (Judges 4:15 CEV).

Although Sisera didn’t know it, he was fighting against a heavenly host, not just the army of Israel. The Bible says, “…the stars from their courses fought against Sisera” (Judges 5:20). God’s angels fought alongside the children of Israel to defeat their enemy.

Through prayers, the children of Israel had made contact with the heavenly army that fought on their behalf. Only a miracle of this nature could have destroyed Sisera.

The children of Israel were fed up with being brutally oppressed by the king of Canaan; the Bible says they “cried unto the Lord; they prayed” (Judges 4:3). Also, Judges 5:2 says they offered themselves willingly to the Lord. They turned to the Lord with all their hearts.

For you to experience miracles, it’s crucial that you submit yourself voluntarily to the Lord—to His Word—and follow His leading. Don’t run helter-skelter, seeking man’s help. Fight from heaven.
Many people put so much effort and resources into activities that don’t succeed. What they haven’t learned is how to function (or fight) from heaven.

When the Word declares, “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us” (Romans 8:37), it’s referring to a certain kind of mentality—the mentality of a victor. With that mentality, you’re confident that nothing can work against you and succeed.

Therefore, whatever “battle” you may seem to be in, yours isn’t to fight! The Bible says you should offer praise and thanksgiving to God because the stars in their courses, the natural forces, and life circumstances work together for your good!
