Rhapsody of Realities TeeVo Devotional 21st June – What’s God’s View On It?

(Be Influenced And Dominated By God’s Written Word)

TO THE BIBLE: Romans 1:16-17
“…I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.””

LET’S TALK
Imagine being in queue for a bus or for lunch at school and, all of a sudden, a rough-looking guy cuts you off in that queue, right in front of you, as you almost reached the beginning! Would you respond calmly? Or would you throw a tantrum? If you impulsively rained invectives on him for his action, that wouldn’t be the right response from God’s standpoint. It wouldn’t be the Christ-like response. Why not identify that person as one to share the Gospel with later on?

You see, God gave us His written Word as His point of view and revelation of life to us, that we might have the knowledge of His will and understand the life of righteousness He’s brought us into. Your thinking and perspective on everything, and in every situation, should always be from the standpoint of His righteousness. It should be God’s interpretation and not from the human perspective. When you have this mindset, it makes no difference the challenges you face, what or who offends you, you’ll respond in love, conscious that you’re the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

Consider the Lord Jesus Christ: He responded in love to His accusers and wouldn’t rail back at them. He prayed to God for them, saying, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” Think like that about someone who has offended you. That’s how God wants you to respond to your critics, not as a mere human being but as the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

He wants the Gospel of Christ, in which the righteousness of God is revealed, to be fully expressed in and through you. Refuse to allow anything else to express itself through you, not even the pervading culture of your environment. Let the culture of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His love-nature be expressed through you, influencing and dominating your actions.
