(Lifting Holy Hands To The Lord Is A Strategy Of The Spirit)
TO THE BIBLE: Exodus 17:11
“And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.”
LET’S TALK
Over the next few days, I’ll be sharing some spiritual truths—mysteries from God’s Word that may not be obvious at first, but when you ractice them, you’ll see amazing results in your life. These aren’t just ideas; they’re divine strategies revealed in Scripture.
One example is found in Exodus 17:8–16. The Israelites were attacked by the Amalekites at Rephidim. Moses instructed Joshua to gather the army and lead the fight while he went up a hill, holding the staff of God.
Here’s where it gets amazing: The Bible says, “As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning” (Exodus 17:11 NIV).
Aaron and Hur noticed that there was a connection between the lifting of Moses’ hands and the victory in the battle. So, when Moses got tired, Aaron and Hur gave him a stone to sit on and stood beside him, each holding up one of his hands. Because of that support, his hands stayed raised until sunset—and the Israelites won.
Then God told Moses, “Write this for a memorial in the book and recount it in the hearing of Joshua, that I will utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven” (Exodus 17:14).
God wanted Joshua to understand something: the battle wasn’t won just by strategy or strength—it was won in the spirit. The secret was in the lifting of Moses’ hands.
This is a powerful mystery. The Bible connects lifted hands with prayer, worship, and victory.
The psalmist wrote, “Let my prayer be set before You as incense, the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice” (Psalm 141:2). Paul also said, “I want men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands…” (1 Timothy 2:8).
Practise this and you’ll see greater successes and profound victories in your life, in your finances, health, ministry and everything that concerns you.
Even now, lift your hands to the Lord; it’s a strategy of the Spirit for your continual victory and life of ever-increasing glory. Hallelujah!

Pray:
Dear Father, I lift up my hands in faith to you who always leads me in perpetual victory parade in Christ. My raised hands are as the evening sacrifice. I’m victorious and triumphant over the adversary; no opposition can prevail against me, and every challenge crumbles before me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
