(We Effect Changes When We Pray)

TO THE BIBLE: James 5:16 AMPC
“…The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].”

LET’S TALK
“Hey, we need to pray for the country,” Jordan said, scrolling through news headlines on his phone.

Maya folded her arms. “Pray? What’s that going to do? That sounds like a last resort. Like something people do when they don’t know what else to try.”

Some people think prayer is only for the desperate or helpless, something weak people do when they run out of options. But that’s a big misunderstanding.

When you understand prayer and the reason we pray, you’d realise that we never pray from a position of weakness or disadvantage. True prayer, the kind the Bible talks about, is one sure way of effecting changes.

When you study the Scriptures, you’d discover that prayer in the Kingdom of God goes far beyond hope, even though hope is a great virtue.

In fact, the very act of prayer arises from hope. But when you begin to pray, you’re no longer simply demonstrating hope; you’re now effecting changes.

Look through the Bible; each time God’s people prayed, miracles were wrought, and adversities were turned into testimonies. It’s the same in our day; our prayers are effective.

The Bible says, “The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]” (James 5:16 AMPC).

That’s why, no matter what’s happening around us, whether it’s in our personal lives, our families, our nation, the salvation of souls, or the furtherance of the Gospel, we pray.

Pray with confidence, knowing that you have a right to be heard by God. He told us to pray because He planned to answer.

Pray according to the Word of God and exercise your authority and dominion in Christ. Use the Name of Jesus and change that seemingly hopeless situation.

When we pray, we’re taking action. It’s our means of influencing situations and releasing the power of God to effect changes and establish God’s will in the earth. Hallelujah!
