(Cause God To Announce Something Good Through Your Sacrificial Offering)

TO THE BIBLE: Hebrews 11:33
“Who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,”

LET’S TALK
In 1 Kings 3, we read about something amazing King Solomon did—he gave God 1,000 burnt offerings. He didn’t have to do that because one would have been enough. But Solomon went above and beyond, and that same night,

God appeared to him and said, “Ask! What shall I give you?” (1 Kings 3:5). His sacrifice got God’s attention.

Later, Solomon took it even further—he gave 22,000 burnt offerings! Once again, God responded, speaking to him and making promises.

Also consider the example of Noah. After the Flood, the first thing he did was build an altar and offer a sacrifice to God using clean animals and birds (Genesis 8).

The Bible says God smelt the “sweet aroma” of Noah’s offering and made a powerful promise: “…I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake…” (Genesis 8:21). And He didn’t stop there—God also gave Noah and his family a new beginning and dominion over the earth (Genesis 9:1-2).

Then there’s the Lord Jesus, who gave the ultimate sacrifice—His own life. Because of His obedience even unto death, the Bible says, “…God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name” (Philippians 2:9). Jesus received all authority and power because He offered Himself fully.

The Bible speaks of others who also obtained promises through their actions of faith, as seen in our opening verse.

The Greek word for promise in that verse is “epaggelia,” which means “to get an announcement of something good that God has given you.”

This principle remains the same; you too can cause God to announce something good for you through your sacrificial offering inspired by your faith in Him.

It’s one of the reasons why giving to God is so important. You can be praying, and He’ll say something to you in your spirit just as in the examples above. Hallelujah!
