(Esteem Your Brothers And Sisters In Christ Highly)

TO THE BIBLE: Revelation 1:5-6
“And from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”

LET’S TALK
Every one has an idea of who they perceive as a “VIP” or “Very important person.” For some people, it’s a politician or their boss at the office or maybe a particular friend they have. When their “VIP” shows up, they immediately accord them special attention. They may even have a special set of crockery reserved at home for when the “VIP” shows up. That’s when their best clothes come out and their home looks like a palace. When I see things like this, I ask myself, “Do God’s people know the real VIPs when they show up?”

The real “VIPS” are your brothers and sisters in Christ! The Lord Jesus said: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.

Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?…The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me’” (Matthew 25:35-40). Can you see that? God shows up in His children! What greater “VIP” could there be than a “God-carrier?”

Never let your brothers and sisters in the Lord become common to you; celebrate them because they are the real “VIPs”. They are the ones that carry God within them, so be smart and recognise that God is in them. If ever a Christian visits you, blessings have come into your home that day. Honour them and treat them well because God is in them and whatever you do to any of them, you are actually doing to Him. When you start functioning this way, angels will show up in your house!
