(Discards Dreams Like Chaff)
TO THE BIBLE: Romans 8:14 NKJV
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.”
LET’S TALK
Sarah woke troubled. In her dream the night before, she saw herself losing her job, and all day she couldn’t shake the fear. She spoke nervously to her friends, made decisions out of anxiety, and carried a heaviness in her heart—all because of a dream.
But Scripture invites us to see dreams differently. Through the prophet Jeremiah, God draws a sharp line: “The prophet who has a dream, let him tell a dream; and he who has My word, let him speak My word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat?” says the Lord.” (Jeremiah 23:28 NKJV).
Dreams, Jeremiah says, are like chaff—the husks that blow away in the wind when wheat is threshed. They may seem impressive, even alarming, but they have no weight, no substance. The Word of God, however, is wheat: nourishing, grounding, life-giving.
In the Old Testament, God sometimes used dreams to guide His people. But with the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, a greater way was given. Now God speaks by His Spirit and through His Word, not through dreams that confuse or mislead.
That means Christians are not to be guided by what they see in the night but by the eternal Word that never changes.
To live by dreams is to cling to chaff; to live by the Spirit and the Word is to hold the grain that feeds and sustains.
So if fear rises from a dream, discard it. If a vision in the night troubles you, release it to the wind. Anchor yourself instead in what is sure: “…The word of the Lord endures forever…” (1 Peter 1:25 NKJV).

Pray:
Dear Father, I thank you for the Holy Spirit who leads and guides me in all things. My steps are ordered by you, and my life is directed by your Word; therefore, I walk in truth, wisdom and the reality of your divine guidance, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Excuse me admin but there is a typo in the text. “Discards Dreams Life Chaff” should be “Discards Dreams Like Chaff”.
This has been corrected, thanks so much for your observation.
To live by dreams is to cling to chaff; to live by the Spirit and the Word is to hold the grain that feeds and sustains.
I live by the Spirit of God.
What does chaff mean???
Chaff means the husks (the dry, fibrous outer covering of seeds, fruits, or grains), commonly seen on corn, rice, wheat or other grains, separated by winnowing or threshing, and is generally thrown away.
