(Demons Are Real—Cast Them Out)
TO THE BIBLE: Mark 16:17 NKJV
“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues.”
LET’S TALK
Some people say demons aren’t real. They think the devil is just a scary idea made up by superstitious people. But that’s not what the Bible teaches. Scripture is very clear: Satan and his demons are real.
1 Peter 5:8 (NKJV) warns: “Your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” That’s serious. Jesus didn’t ignore demons; he talked about them, dealt with them, and cast them out.
In fact, one of the first signs Jesus said would follow those who believe in him is that they will cast out demons (Mark 16:17). That means if you’re a Christian, you have authority over the devil.
There was a time when Jesus was teaching in a synagogue and a woman came in who was bent over and couldn’t stand up straight. Jesus saw her, called her over, and said, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.” (Luke 13:12, NKJV).
The Bible explains in verses 11 and 16 that a demon had caused her condition, and Jesus proved it by healing her instantly.
Jesus also healed people who were deaf and mute by casting out evil spirits. And you know what? That still happens today. Many Christians, young and old, have prayed in Jesus’ name and seen people healed in the same way.
Why? Because Jesus gave us that same authority. He told us to cast out demons, not just talk about them. He wants us to recognise that some of the pain, problems, and oppression people go through are caused by spiritual forces. If the devil can convince you he doesn’t exist, he can sneak in and cause damage without being noticed.
But here’s the good news: Satan and his demons are already defeated. They have no power over you unless you give them room. That’s why the Bible says in Ephesians 4:27 (NIV), “…do not give the devil a foothold.”
Satan and his demons may be real, but they are powerless, defenceless, and paralysed before us. Whenever they show up, cast them out; truncate their activities, manoeuvres, and manipulations. You have absolute dominion over them—exercise it.

Dear Father, thank you for the authority I have in the Name of Jesus to cast out demons and to destroy their works and schemes. Thank you for the victory and dominion I have over all the power of the enemy. I walk in this authority today and always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
