(His Sacrificial Love Saved You)

TO THE BIBLE: John 15:13
“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”

LET’S TALK
Our opening scripture reminds us of something powerful the Holy Spirit said through the apostle Paul in Romans 5:8: “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Let that sink in. Even when we didn’t know Him, even when we were lost in sin, Jesus chose to die for us.

That’s love in its purest form. Because of His sacrifice, the Bible now says, “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus…” (Romans 8:1).

That word “condemnation” means judgement or punishment. Jesus took that judgement for us. He faced what we should’ve faced.

That’s why 2 Corinthians 5:19 (NIV) says:
“…God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them.” Did you see that? God’s not holding your sins against you—because He already placed them on Jesus. Jesus became the sin-bearer.

1 Peter 2:24 further makes it clearer; it says, “…Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness….”

This is why, when we pray for people who haven’t yet received Christ, we don’t pray for God to “do” something—He already did! We pray they’ll realise the truth: Jesus bore their sin so they don’t have to live in sin anymore. Hallelujah!

2 Corinthians 5:14–15 says, “For the love of Christ compels us… if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.”

Jesus gave everything for you. Now, live for Him. Not out of fear. Not out of guilt. But out of love. That’s the only right response to such an incredible love. Hallelujah!

Pray:
Dear Father, I thank you for the priceless sacrifice of Jesus Christ who bore our sins and took our judgment upon Himself. Thank you for reconciling the world to yourself, and now we have the ministry of reconciliation, to share this glorious truth with others, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
