(We Know And Understand The Mysteries Of God)
TO THE BIBLE: 1 Corinthians 2:7-8
“But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.”
LET’S TALK
The sacrifice of Jesus Christ stands as the central and most glorious revelation in all of Scripture. It was not merely a sorrowful moment in history or the death of an innocent man. It was the unfolding of a divine mystery purposed by God.
Paul, in our opening verse, called this mystery “the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages.”
This “hidden wisdom” refers to God’s redemptive plan through Christ. Satan, though a spiritual being, is not all-knowing. He did not understand the full purpose behind Jesus’ death.
If Satan had understood that the crucifixion would lead to the resurrection and the birth of the Church, he would never have stirred the events that led to the cross.
Paul continues in 1 Corinthians 2:9–11: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him. But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so, no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.”
Glory to God! The mysteries of God are not hidden from us anymore! By His Spirit, God has made known to His children the depths of His love and purpose.
The Bible declares in 1 Corinthians 1:30 that Christ has become for us wisdom from God. And in verse 16 of chapter 2, Paul boldly says, “We have the mind of Christ.”
Let this truth anchor your faith: we know and understand the wisdom and mysteries of God. Hallelujah!
