(Don’t Beg for What’s Already Yours)

TO THE BIBLE: Romans 8:32 AMPC
“He who did not withhold or spare [even] His own Son but gave Him up for us all, will He not also with Him freely and graciously give us all [other] things?”

LET’S TALK
Imagine that you walk into your house after school, super hungry. As you head to the kitchen, you see your favourite snacks on the counter, clearly marked with your name.

But instead of picking one up, you stand there begging your mom, “Please, can I have something to eat?” She’d probably look at you funny and say, “Why are you asking for what’s already yours?” Sounds silly, right? But a lot of Christians do the same thing with God.

As a child of God, it’s pointless to keep praying for your needs as though God hasn’t already provided them.

The real privilege of prayer in the New Testament isn’t to beg for blessings; it’s to establish God’s will in the earth. Your needs have already been handled.

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 3:21, “Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours.” Not “will be”. Not “if you behave”. All things are yours now. Whatever you’ll ever need in this life—peace, provision, help, healing—has already been given to you.

What you need to learn is how to use the Word of God to appropriate for yourself whatever you require.

Again, in Ephesians 1:3, it says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.”

Notice that it says you’re already blessed with ALL spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ; it includes material blessings too, because the spiritual gave birth to the physical. The lesser is included in the greater.

This was Peter’s mindset on the same subject when he said, “His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.”

Someone might say, “Well, these are beautiful scriptures, but I don’t experience life that way.” That’s because you have chosen to look at life from your experience.

Instead, you need to learn God’s Word, understand it, and put it to work, and its blessings will manifest in your life. Hallelujah!

Speak:
Blessed Father, thank you for the provisions of the Gospel; I’m confident in all that you’ve done, and I take my place of dominion, reigning and ruling with you, for I know you’ve made all things mine. I’m what you say I am; I have all you say I have; and I can do all things in the Name of the Lord Jesus. I’m rich in all things because I’m a joint-heir with Christ. Praise God!
