No Death Zone – Rhapsody Of Realities TeeVo Devotional June 13th

(You’ve Passed From Death To Life)

TO THE BIBLE: 2 TIMOTHY 1:10
“Who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.”

LET’S TALK
The Bible records that in ancient times, humans lived for hundreds of years, with some exceeding 900 years. But as sin increased, human lifespans shortened, and Genesis 6:3 states that God set a limit of 120 years.

Later, Moses observed that most people lived around 70 to 80 years, and even then, life was filled with hardship (Psalm 90:8-10). The Lord Jesus came to address this by dealing with the root cause—sin.

Through His sacrifice, He made eternal life possible, which means we’ve been passed from death to life (John 5:24).

The Lord Jesus didn’t just defeat death—He abolished it. That’s why 1 Corinthians 15:55 declares, “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The Lord Jesus proved death had no hold on Him when He rose from the grave after three days.

So why then do Christians still die? Many don’t fully understand this truth (Psalm 82:5-7), and the consciousness of death keeps them bound. We’ll learn a bit more about the fear of death in our next study.

You might ask, “Pastor Chris, are you saying we are not supposed to die?” Absolutely! We have the potential to live beyond the confines of earthly limitations.

The Bible lets us know that many of us will be alive and physically raptured from the earth when the trumpet sounds (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

As children of God, we have His divine life—one that isn’t ruled by sickness, disease, or death.

2 Peter 1:4 says we’re partakers of the divine nature and have escaped the corruption that’s in the world. Death is one of those “corruptions” from which you’ve been extricated. Hallelujah!

Pray:
I refuse to be bound by the consciousness of death or the limitations of this world. I walk in the fullness of the life and victory that Christ has obtained for me, and I live in health, strength and vitality. I live out the transcendent life, demonstrating the power and glory of God in all areas of my life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
