(Your Sustenance Is By The Spirit)

TO THE BIBLE: ROMANS 8:11
“But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”

LET’S TALK
“Did you know that a born-again Christian isn’t sustained by blood?” Nathan asked his classmates.

Sophia raised an eyebrow. “That doesn’t make sense. Everyone needs blood to live.”
Nathan shook his head. “That’s what I thought too, but I discovered something in the Bible.

When the Lord Jesus rose from the dead, His body wasn’t sustained by blood anymore but by the Spirit. And since we have the same resurrected life as Him, we aren’t sustained by blood either.”
Sophia hesitated, then nodded. “I see it now. That’s actually true.”
Nathan grinned. “Exactly.”

In Ephesians 5:30, the Apostle Paul shares a most profound truth in all of Christianity: “For we are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones.”

This is far beyond being part of a local church—it’s referring to our inextricable oneness with Christ. We’re one with Him!

But notice something interesting—Paul didn’t say “of His blood.” Why? Because the Lord Jesus’ body doesn’t have blood anymore.

Remember, when He was crucified, He gave His blood as a sacrifice for us. When the Roman soldier pierced His side, blood and water flowed out; His blood was entirely drained out. (John 19:34). By the time He was buried, His body had no blood left.

Then, on the third day, something incredible happened—the Holy Spirit raised Him from the dead! His resurrected body wasn’t sustained by blood anymore but by the power of the Holy Spirit. And here’s the exciting part: “As He is, so are we in this world.” (1 John 4:17) Glory!

Before you were born again, your body lived by blood. But now that the Holy Spirit lives in you, even though there’s blood in your body, your sustenance is by the Spirit.

No wonder Paul asserts in Romans 8:11, “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”

Dear Father, I thank you for the Holy Spirit who lives in me and gives life to every fibre of my being, keeping me in divine health. Every part of my body is vitalized and strengthened by your Spirit, from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
