PEACE

The word “peace” in the Scriptures has both Greek and Hebrew connotations.

The Hebrew origin of the word is “Shalom,” which occurs in the Old Testament (Psalm 122:6; Isaiah 26:3; Jeremiah 29:11). It means safe, well, happy, friendly, etc.

It also refers to a state of wellbeing that guarantees divine health and prosperity—the peace of God that brings prosperity.

The Greek rendering of this word in the New Testament is “eirene”; it’s a word that describes an end to hostilities between two hitherto warring enemies. It means to be set at one again; it also depicts peace with quietness and prosperity.

It shows up in John 14:27, Ephesians 2:15, Colossians 3:15, etc. What this implies is that through Christ Jesus, you’re now one with God.
